Some Recent Videos and Pictures

Here is a video of Alex and Kaylee at the Como Zoo.  Here we are watching the Gorilla's.  The gorilla's are so fun to watch when they aren't sleeping.  At least they were a little active today.

Here are the girls looking at another little monkey that keeps coming up to the window to look out.  Not sure if the monkey is able to see through the glass or if it is just looking at itself in the glass.  The girls had so much fun.
Minnesota Pictures
I finally got my cable for my digital camera.  So I was able to upload a bunch of pictures from when we came back from Dominica.    There are a few pics of Alex with her cousin, Kaylee, and with her friend, Hailey.  There are also a couple of pics from a Wild game I had went to with Steph and Sarah.  Sarah got the Wild tickets from work and they were awesome seats-- right down in front in the middle of the rink.  It was so much fun.  There are also more of Alex getting her first major haircut.  She brought her big Care Bear along to help her though the haircut.  It was so cute and she had so much fun.

Last Days in Dominica
I also had a few pics from the last few days in Dominica before we headed home for Christmas break.  Keith is still down there are we can't wait until he comes home.  He arrives on April 25Th.  He just got his results back from his anatomy practical and he got an A.  He is really doing a great job in medical school.  His next major exam is the second Monday in March.  I will let everyone know how he does.

Looking Through Old Pictures

I have been working on putting a slideshow together with pics of my grandpa. The memorial service will be March 7th, a Saturday, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Apple Valley. Today I looked at a bunch of old pictures my grandparents have. I found so many neat things. There are so many I would love to upload on here. The first picture is my Grandpa's school picture from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, 1935. The second picture is of my grandpa's aircraft carrier, USS St. Lo, in the Battle of Leyte Gulf after the kamikaze flew into it. The last picture is of my grandpa's house he lived in while going to school at Roosevelt High School. I think I will find time to find this house and take a picture of what it looks like now.

I also found newspapers from when World War II started and the Minneapolis paper from when Kennedy was assasinated in 1963. It is so neat to see that. One of these days I will see if I can scan them in and put them on here.

Scooter

I have been working on a slide show of pictures of my grandpa the past few days. And as I was looking through pictures I realized we took way too many pictures of our dog, Scooter! There are so many of them that we had to throw some out. There are pictures of scooter with teddy bears, pictures of him next to the Christmas Tree, pictures of him with the family at Christmas, there are just too many. He's still around too! He will turn 19 years old on Oct. 3rd.

Bud Sole- Dec 30, 1917-Feb 10th, 2009

My Grandpa passed away this morning. He was 91 years old and led a very long and active life. He and my grandma met while they were in high school. After they were married he was drafted into the war and joined the navy. He was aboard the USS st. lo (formerly the USS midway) and his ship was hit by a kamikaze at the Battle of Leyte Gulf. It's a great story and I wish I had more time to type it all down, but it's late and I'm tired. I was able to videotape an interview with him and my grandma about it a few years ago. I have been working on putting a couple of the clips on youtube. You can go to my youtube site at: www.youtube.com/hamroo14. Right now I have three videos on there. If they aren't all on there when you check it some of them might be processing.

Potty Training with Alex

Alex is three years old now, and I haven't been very good about potty training. But now I know she is ready. She has been into Care Bears lately. So I mentioned the idea of Care Bear underwear if she goes potty in the toilet. Well, she went on her own. So I went to the store and couldn't find Care Bear underwear. So the potty in the toilet didn't last long. So I decided today to print out some Care Bear items from Amazon and I drew nine boxes on a piece of paper and taped it next to her toilet. I told her if she gets nine stickers she can pick out a Care Bear item. So far today she has gone potty in the toilet three times.

About our house. We have had someone look at it to buy it and they are coming back this next weekend to look at it again. I just hope someone buys it!!

Keith has his first exam this Friday. It's a neuroanatomy practical exam. Then on Monday he has his first mini exam. Good luck Keith!
