Alex's Cat
Alex loves her cat, which really doesn't have a name yet, so we just call it "cat". She is always taking pictures and making cat videos! Now she wants to be a movie director of cat videos! :)

Another Cat Video
Yes, Alex is crazy about making cat videos! It's all she wants to do. She is even the one who names them. :)

Alex jamming on the guitar
Alex got two Hannah Montana guitars from her cousin, Zoe. She loves them and likes to pretend to be a rockstar. The other night I look out on the patio and see Alex jamming on the guitar. I only got a few seconds of video before she noticed me, but she didn't seem to mind, she just kept on jamming.

Preschool Tap/Ballet Recital
Alex had her dance recital today. She was so cute! I wish you all could of seen her because the videos I took did not come out very good. The one video above is from her dance recital but the warm-up routine the girls do.
Not sure if I posted this before but Alex had her Karate belt test and she passed! She is no longer a white belt, but a red striped belt. She enjoys Karate so much that I signed her up for a Karate camp in July.

Happily Forever After
Alex was in a play at church called Happily Forever After. She didn't have any speaking parts, but she was a "little dragon". The socks on the kids arms are dragons. This is the one song I got on video because it was the only time the kids came to the front to sing. The other times they were standing in the back but the stage was filled with other characters that my view was not that good. If you checked out the pictures on facebook you could see that Alex eventually got bored and became more interested in a plant she was sitting next to then what was going on in the play.

Here is a video I took of Alex ice skating this past weekend. She had so much fun and was so proud of herself when she ice skated by herself.

Christmas Caroling with Alex
![]() |
| Christmas Caroling with Alex and Castlin |
Tonight we went Christmas caroling with Dunwoody Baptist Church. We only went to three places but could of gone to more because we really had a fun time. Alex especially had fun with her friend, Castlin. We went to three places and everyone really enjoyed having us come to sing carols. I took a short video from the second place we went:
The third place we went we we're invited in for cookies and hot apple cider. The kids just loved it!
Tomorrow we plan to go ice skating with some of her friends from preschool. This should be interesting!

Spring Lake Park Reserve- Schaar's Bluff, Lebanon Hills Regional Park
Yesterday Keith and I took Alex and her cousin, Zoe to Spring Lake Park Reserve in Hastings, MN. This was Keith's first time there and he really enjoyed hiking around in the park. The park overlooks the Mighty Mississippi river and it has a great playground for the kids to play. We walked on a different path this time and I will say this was not the time of year to be walking in the woods. The mosquito's we're horrible! After having a snack, letting the girls play at the playground, and finding a Geocache, we drove to the Lower Spring Lake Park Reserve. At the Lower Spring Lake Park we we're able to follow a trail to the Mississippi River. We enjoyed all the hiking and the much needed shower when we got home. Click below for pictures and a funny video Keith posted:

More Fourth of July Fun
I had some video that I had been meaning to upload from the Fourth of July. Before watching the fireworks the kids (and maybe one grown -up) had fun in the pool. Here is some of that fun:
Alex has been a busy little bunny the last few days! Yesterday I took Alex to Carver Lake Beach and Park in Woodbury. We spent a few hours in the sand making sand castles and some time in the water splashing around! Alex had a blast and said she wanted to stay there all day! I on the other hand was hot and thirsty so I bribed her with treats to leave! :)
Today Alex had a full day of fun! She had gymnastics in the morning with her friend, Haylie, then played at Haylie's house for a few hours in the afternoon. She didn't want to leave! But of course she had to because we had a pizza date with our friends Megan and Sarah! Then Alex had more fun with Megan at their pool! Alex loves spending time with her friends! She is like the energizer bunny and could play ALL day!!

Fourth of July Weekend
This weekend was full of fun! On Saturday we went to Keith's sister's house for a pool party! They kids just LOVED it! They swam for most of the day except when it was time to eat hot dogs and hamburgers! Alex must of been hungry because she ate one of each! Fun in the pool didn't stop there, on Sunday we went back to Mary Ellen's house and the kids ended up in the pool again! After the second pool party we headed back to Keith's mom's house to watch fireworks from her back porch in Woodbury. The fireworks we're awesome, but the mosquitos we're not... we're still itching from those darn things today!!!

Big River Regional Trail
Today Alex's cousin, came to visit for the day! We started out the day by making homemade finger paints and munching on strawberries! They girls had so much fun making a mess! I decided to leave them to take a shower and get ready for the day and when I got out I saw they had mixed the strawberries in with the finger paints and spread them all over! Luckily they we're on the patio!
They love cooking and making things so they made their own concoction of mac and cheese and then I had them iron (with adult supervision of course) on patches onto some small hand bags that I had gotten from Michaels! Zoe gave hers to her mom!
I love going to different parks in the twin cities so I decided to take them to the Big River Regional Trail in Mendota Heights. There was a great view where we parked of the airport so we stopped for a while and watched some planes take off. Then we walked for a while down the path for about 20 minutes before heading back. The path goes just over five miles to Fort Snelling and there was no way the kids we're going to walk that far! I would love to bike it sometime though!
Which brings me to my next video posting: Alex got a new bike! It is so cute and she LOVES it! I already had a little hat and horn from her scooter so she was all set to go on her first bike ride! I can tell she is so proud of herself! The weather is perfect this time of year in MN for bike riding so we will get a lot of use out of it!

Go Go Go Go Abby!
We we're kind of sitting close to the field and a couple of foul balls came in our direction so we grabbed a helmet and put it on Alex. She looked SO cute with it on! We had to protect our little munchkin! :)
Alex was so excited to see the softball game. The whole time she wanted to know where Abby was! She was cheering for Abby the whole time! Even when she wasn't on the field! :)
I took a short video of Abby at bat and you can hear Alex cheering for her in the background! It is so cute and I love listening to her little voice! She wanted to make sure Abby heard her!

Cafesjian's Carousel and the Polar Bear Odyssey
Alex's cousin, Zoe, started summer vacation this week and doesn't have daycare so she is spending the week with us. Today was a rainy day but that didn't keep us inside. I found out that they had free Carousel Rides at Como Town and a new Polar Bear Exhibit at the Como Zoo so we decided to head out to St. Paul.
The Cafesjian's Carousel was built in 1914 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and was the 33rd carousel the company built. The Cafesjian's Carousel was built for the Minnesota State Fair, but then was put up for auction in 1988. At that time a non-profit group named Our Fair Carousel bought the carousel and restored it. Below is a video of Alex dancing to the organ music and watching the carousel go round and round:
After a few rides on the Carousel we decided to head inside to see the beautiful flowers in the Sunken Garden at the Conservatory and then off to the brand new Polar Bear exhibit.
The Polar Bear exhibit was so cool! The kids just LOVED it! There are two polar bears and one was swimming right in front of the glass. Alex just stared! Here's a video:

Some Recent Videos
Here are some videos that I've uploaded to my youtube page:
This first video is of Alex and her friend Kara playing pretend at their pool in the Brickell area. They are sooo cute and Alex is so dramatic when she is pretending to read a book to hello kitty.
This next one is a short video of a crocodile monitor at the Miami Zoo:
The last video is the view of Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne, from the lighthouse. This is such a beautiful beach! I loved it!

See Pip Point
Here is a video of Alex reading "See Pip Point". I read to her all the time and it's starting to pay off! She loves having me read to her and I have started getting preschool reading books from the library- books with easy sentences and words in them. Then when I read to her I point to the word. She's really catching on:
