Making my own Laundry Soap

After a friend posted that she was making her own laundry detergent of Facebook I decided to google a recipe and try to make my own laundry detergent.  Keith was actually pretty excited about this so we both went to Wal-mart and purchased the ingredients: Bars of soap, Borax, and washing soda.  I had actually never heard of Borax so I was happy to easily find it in the laundry detergent section of the grocery store.  If you look at the website I posted below you will see two different recipes, one that includes water and one that does not.  We opted for the powdered recipe because it was easy.  Our first load is washing right now!  I hope it works out because this laundry soap should last us a REALLY long time and in the end will be a money saver!

The picture above is Alex and her friend, Ellie, at the pool birthday party she went to on Saturday.  The girls had a blast swimming and eating birthday cake!
